July 20, 2026 - Ben Wikler
Monday, July 20 · 48 min · ★ 4.0 on TMDB
Jon Stewart digs into Trump (and his doppelganger) photobombing Spain at the FIFA final, a primetime presidential speech that revisited 2020 election conspiracies, and how the administration’s non-DEI “meritocracy” is holding up amid T-tests, measles outbreaks, a botched 250th celebration, and an algae-filled reflecting pool. Former Wisconsin Democratic Party chair Ben Wikler joins Stewart to discuss his new book, "This Is The Plan: How to End America's Meltdown and Save Democracy." Together, they trace how Democrats helped flip Wisconsin from a gerrymandered Republican stronghold into a state with a Democratic governor, a pro-democracy state Supreme Court, and fairer legislative maps, while unpacking the strategy behind that turnaround, beating Elon Musk’s record spending in a Supreme Court race, letting voters decide the gubernatorial primary, and rebuilding Democratic power nationally.
