The Daily Show · Season 31 · Episode 80
June 23, 2026 - Lou Diamond Phillips
Tuesday, June 23 · 30 min · ★ 3.2 on TMDB
Josh Johnson dives into the Scottish takeover of Miami for the World Cup, D.C.’s bright green reflecting pool, Trump’s security push to catch possible pool “vandals,” and whether the whole soggy mess is karma for trashing Obama’s old pool fix. Conservative media can’t stop talking about it, while Michael Kosta can’t stop dreaming about drinking it. Summer is here, and Lewis Black kicks it off with a look at some of the dumbest and most dangerous fitness trends: sword yoga, neck hanging, and pistols and Pilates. Tony, Emmy, and Golden Globe-nominated actor Lou Diamond Phillips joins Josh to discuss his new film “Gangland,” what keeps drawing him to westerns, how the movie centers Indigenous stories and talent, what still excites him about acting, and why young artists should avoid building careers on a “foundation of sand.”
